Wyldling, a relatively newly formed four piece, have been going from strength to strength.Comprising of front lady Jilly St John, a ‘Laney’ sponsored act, former members of ‘Kharma 45’GlenRosborough on guitar and Phil Curran on drums and joining them on bass is David Kirby. All members on the band have been in involved in other line-ups and have been gracing the music
scene with their talents for many years. Lead singer, Jilly, is notorious for having performed at around 120 shows in just 11 months including the likes of ‘Download’, ‘Sonisphere’ and ‘T In the Park’. Glenn and Phil spent two years living on the road, touring around the UK and Ireland in the back of a splitter van, playing as many festivals as they could including 'READING AND LEEDS'
to 'T IN THE PARK', 'Rockness' and 'Hyde-Park Calling' and supported such bands as 'WE ARE SCIENTISTS', 'KASABIAN', 'Live', 'One Night Only' and 'Faithless'.
As happens after many split-up’s of groups Jilly found herself longing to get back into music following No Mean City’s break up. The success and achievements she had experienced made music shout out to her as a real career possibility. It took a year for Jilly to draw together other musicians
with a similar mind set to her own. Perseverance was the key to open the door of opportunity, as she eventually found three men to fit the bill and Wyldling was born. Wyldling burst onto the music scene with an energy that couldn’t help but catch the attention of fans, the media and other musicians. They found themselves being featured in HotPress magazine, on NME’s website, Clash Magazine and even appeared as CirclePit.Tv’s Band of the Month. But a real
highlight for the group was the chance for some airtime on the BBC Introducing and taking pleasure in comparisons being made bands like Garbage and No Doubt.
Wyldling could not have found themselves a more suitable candidate for a front woman as Jilly has been a force to reckon with for as long as she has been involved in music. To say she stands out in a crowd is a bit of an understatement, she grabs onto recognition and support with her individual attitude on stage and it hasn’t only reached fans, but some established names in the industry too. WYLDLING released their debut three track single, 'Little Girl', in June of this year. It was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered in the comfort of Glenn's bedroom and also had a video made by Glen and Jill, a clearly artistic pair. All the inspiration for song writing in the band comes from
personal experiences giving it an edge in its ability to connect with audiences.
For local audiences looking to connect with Wyldling there’s good news as the group will be making their next appearance at the "Shapeshifters Catwalk" in the Craft Village on the 27 th October.
More gigs are to be announced for the rest of Ireland and further afield as well as the possibility of more recording for the group.
Jilly has also hinted that there may be some big news coming up soon, so keep your eyes and ears peeled music fans. Check their Facebook for updates!
